AUDITIONS FOR THE MUSIC MAN

AUDITIONS FOR MunOpCo’s 2009 Spring production of “THE MUSIC MAN” will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2008 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Scottish Rite Cathedral Theatre, 1533 Hamilton St., Allentown, PA 18102. An accompanist will be available. Registration will be in the Main Lobby. All individuals are asked to prepare 32 bars of a song from the show or a song of their choice showcasing their vocal abilities and range. Dance auditions will be conducted so bring proper shoes and a character reading from the script will be conducted. A boy and girl, ages 8-13 are needed for speaking/singing roles. A limited number of children ages 8-16 will be cast for the ensemble. Men and women, ages 17 and up are needed for all roles and ensemble.

 

‘SWINGING IN THE HOLIDAY” Big Band Concert featuring

THE ROYALAIRES

In an effort to help MunOpCo Music Theatre keep their doors open and open their 83rd Season, The Royalaires have offered to play a public Benefit Concert for MunOpCo on Sunday, December 21, 2008 at 2 PM at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, 1533 Hamilton St. in Allentown, PA. The concert of popular Big Band and Swing tunes promises to be a hit for the entire family. There will be special vocals ensembles singing in the Holiday Season as well as Yuletide Tap Dancers of all ages. “Swinging in the Holiday” is truly a family event and everyone is invited to Swing in the Cheer With The Royalaires and MunOpCo Music Theatre.

DANCE WORKSHOPS SCHEDULED

MunOpCo Music Theatre will be holding the following Winter Dance Workshops. Terri Williams, resident choreographer of MunOpCo, will teach all classes. The cost for each workshop is $60 or $100 for two. All classes will be held on the stage at The Scottish Rite Cathedral, 1533 Hamilton Street, Allentown. Musical Theatre Dance for Children

Description: This workshop will cover different choreographic styles from popular Broadway musicals. All ability levels are welcome. Instruction will be tailored to each student’s level of knowledge. Participants will also learn the Children’s Movement Audition for MunOpCo’s spring production of “The Music Man”.

Beginner/Intermediate Musical Theatre Dance

Ages 13 through Adult

Description: This workshop will cover different choreographic styles from popular Broadway musicals. All ability levels are welcome. Instruction will be tailored to each student’s level of knowledge. Participants will also learn the General Movement Audition for MunOpCo’s spring production of “The Music Man”.

Beginner/Intermediate Tap

Ages 13 through Adult

Description: This workshop will cover the basics of Tap. Previous experience is not necessary, but Tap Shoes are required. Instruction will be tailored to each student’s level of knowledge.

Intermediate/Advanced Musical Theatre Dance

Description: This workshop is designed for those with previous dance training and will cover different choreographic styles from popular Broadway musicals. Instruction will be tailored to each student’s level of knowledge. Participants will also learn the Featured Dancer Audition for MunOpCo’s spring production of “The Music Man”.

Intermediate/Advanced Tap

Ages 13 through Adult

Description: This workshop is designed for those with a working knowledge of tap dancing. Emphasis will be placed on experimentation of rhythms, styles and techniques.
